The energy was incredible and our leadership can see the growing support from grassroots Métis people. We set objectives and we’re proud to execute and share insight into our 2014-2015 activities. This included our audited financial statements, investments and progress with our new economic development company, etc. Our members and partners communities see a strong self sufficient future with the BC Métis Federation.”

BC Métis Federation President Henry concluded, “Thank you to our BC Métis Federation team starting with Sherry Daniels from our office, Derrick Whiteskycloud, Ken Fisher, Norm Eyford, Shauna Benson, Rene Therrien, JJ Lavallee, Baillie Redfern, Joe Desjarlais, and Betty Fisher. Thank you to the Métis performers for the contributions to feature our culture and ensure fun. Thank you to corporate sponsors and partners who sat in and learned together about our organization and plans for the future. Thank you to our partner Métis communities who brought members to participate. Thank you to the Métis Economic Development Corporation board members for sharing their perspectives and plans for the future. Finally a special thank you to our grassroots members as so many showed up and paid their own expenses to attend and participate. That was authentic Métis self governance in action. Our future is very bright!” BC Métis Federation has posted a number of pictures and videos from the weekend meetings on the BC Métis Federation Facebook page so be sure to view https://www.facebook.com/BCMetis?fref=ts.

I was very impressed by the well organized Industry Forum and Annual General Meeting.
The presentations were interesting and captured the attention of the participants. There was room for questions, and the presenters gave detailed answers. It was great to see how respectful and open everyone was.
Participants came from all over BC. Some were Métis who had moved to BC from another province. It touched me deeply to see how grateful they were to be welcomed and accepted.
It goes without saying that the entertainment was FIRST CLASS! Such diverse talent! EVERYONE was fantastic! Since I LOVE fiddle music so much, I am partial to Rene and Ken, as well as JJ and Fagen!
Congratulations to the BC Métis Federation for a job very well done!
