Hi – One other bit of news on the election on Monday, October 19th. Mr. Bernard Valcourt, the Aboriginal Affairs minister of the Harper Conservatives has gone down to defeat by a liberal candidate in his riding in New Brunswick. Goodbye to him and good on that.

As a high profile Minister in the defeated gov’t of Stephan Harper he refused to look into many complaints put forth by Metis across Canada and here in BC about support of unaccountable Metis organizations who have run up huge debts and are not transparent with how they handle government money.

Maybe now (under the new Liberal gov’t), we will get a new minister who will look into the evidence that is plain to see and make things right and fair for all Metis in BC. The future looks friendly so let’s hope that major changes are forthcoming to make all Metis move forward with honesty, integrity and accountability. Thanks you! Merci beaucoup!

Yahooo !!! I am very proud that 8 Aboriginal candidates have been elected and 2 are Metis.

I am so glad that the Conservatives are out and a new few years are in, for everybody !!!!!

What a enormous sigh of relief the conservatives are gone, as well as Bernard Valcourt.
When are they finally going to have an Aboriginal representative sit as Northern and Indian affairs minister. I’m loving the revitalization of the aboriginal languages and arts announcement this week after harper cut that program almost to nothing.

Hopefully we are heading towards a new era of reconciliation and “Real change”, congratulations Justin Trudeau.
