MyVoyageur.ca Kicks Off

The BC Métis Federation is proud to announce the completion of MyVoyageur.ca. This web-based information system was developed with support from Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC) and Urban Aboriginal Partnerships program, and provides important information to Métis youth moving from rural centres to Victoria, Vancouver, Kamloops, Kelowna and Prince George, and others, regarding community services agencies and resources in British Columbia.

Ultimately, this tool will lead to enhanced participation in the economy, and to improved resource awareness and utilization. MyVoyageur.ca will reduce barriers for Métis youth in transition from rural to urban settings.

BC Métis Federation President Keith Henry stated; “We want to thank all of the members, youth participants, and our internal team who supported the development of this important tool. We want to encourage all members of the public to create an account at begin reducing barriers for our youth! The BC Métis Federation continues its work to support the well-being of its members.”

BC Métis Federation President Henry concluded; “This is another important development for our organization and we need to move forward empowering the youth and our community members in any way we can.”
