Louis Riel Day – November 16th

BC Métis Federation is releasing the 2013 article produced by well known Métis historians and Elders George and Terry Goulet, about the importance of Louis Riel Day this Saturday, November 16th.

Each year, Métis communities commemorate the date when one of our most historic Métis leaders, Louis Riel was wrongfully hanged in Regina in 1885.

BC Métis Federation continues to encourage Governments and all sectors of society to raise a Métis flag. This public show of support recognizes Métis people across Canada and we hope is one step towards true reconciliation.
