BC Métis Federation Welcomes Fort Nelson Métis Community

BC Métis Federation leaders are proud to announce welcoming Old Fort Métis Association officially as a new community partner today.

BCMF President Keith Henry stated, “Another important step within BC as our Métis people freely choose their provincial representation. Métis have always been our own people and today the local leadership in Fort Nelson, and their approximate 200 members, have decided to work in a cooperative manner with the BC Métis Federation. Thank you to Old Fort Métis Association Executive Director, Taylor McLeod, for your work to see this agreement come together today.”

Good day , Congratulations to the Old Fort Metis Association And The B.C. Metis Federation !

Way to go Keith ( my friend of many years ) and to Taylor McLeod for a job well done .

This is soon to be 80 years old ” old bushman Bob ” on the Ontario side of the Akwesasne

Mohawk Indian Reservation where 13,000 Mohawks and one Metis live ( I have them

surrounded , haha ) ! On of these days I hope to visit Fort Nelson again after about 50 years.

In the meantime , to you all , please take care and keep up the good work for all Metis .
