Western Canada Marine Response Corporation (WCMRC)

WCMRC is a Transport Canada certified Response Organization, whose mandate is to ensure there is a state of preparedness in place and to mitigate the impact when an oil spill occurs. This includes the protection of wildlife, economic and environmental sensitivities, and the safety of both the responders and the public.

Indigenous Summer Internship Program

WCMRC is hiring six Indigenous interns to work as deckhands at one of our six response bases – Burnaby, Nanaimo, Victoria, Beecher Bay, Port Alberni or Prince Rupert. The four-month (May to August) summer job is a full-time paid position. Interns will gain valuable work experience in the marine sector and insight into how spill response works on Canada’s West Coast.
