The BC Métis Federation is hosting its 2024 Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Victoria on Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. All members are encouraged to attend. To celebrate BCMF’s 13th year, a Métis Kitchen Party will be held after the AGM from 6:30 pm – 10:00 pm. Lunch and dinner will be provided for delegates.
Please note that the AGM will be an in-person event only. There will be no online option for participation.

Special Resolutions
Special Resolutions must be submitted 14 days in advance of the AGM. Any member wishing to submit a Special Resolution should do so by emailing it to Jacquie Swaisland, BC Mètis Federation Secretary, at J.Swaisland@BCMetis.com.
- SR-2024-1 – Extending the term of Directors from two years to four years
- Submitted by the BCMF Board of Directors
- As set out in item 3.3.1 of the BCMF Board of Directors Policy Manual, the current term for Directors is two years. This resolution seeks to extend the term for elected Directors to four years.
Board of Directors Election
Nine Director positions are up for election this year:
- President
- Vice President
- Secretary
- Treasurer
- At Large Board Members (five)
Nominations are now open for the BC Métis Federation Board of Directors election, to be held at the Annual General Meeting in September. BCMF members are invited to make a difference in the future of BCMF and shape the direction of the federation by standing for election to the Board of Directors.
To be eligible for nomination, candidates must be a Full BCMF member in good standing and a BC resident for at least the 12 months preceding the election. Additionally, all candidates must submit the nomination form, a nominee statement, and a criminal record check.
Completed nomination forms must be emailed to nominations@BCMetis.com no later than 5:00 pm on August 7, 2024. The nomination form for interested candidates can be downloaded from the BCMF website.
Please note that the voting in the election will be conducted in-person only. There will be no option for online or mail-in voting.
Métis Kitchen Party
Following the closing of the Annual General Meeting from, join us for dinner and a Métis Kitchen Party complete with jigging, fiddle tunes, and Bingo!
Bev Lambert will be leading the entertainment, along with Karen Dion, Spring Fever, and Rebel Heart. The five rounds of bingo will feature cash prizes totalling $3,000. Please note that the bingo is only open to delegates who attend the Annual General Meeting.
