Through its “Finding Your Voice” women’s programming initiative, the BC Métis Federation is proud to offer a Women’s Self-Defence & Situational Awareness workshop in Kamloops on Saturday, June 15 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

Situational awareness enables women to respond quickly and safely to potential dangers in the surrounding area:

  • How to recognize and avoid dangerous situations.
  • Practicing getting out of difficult positions.
  • Intro to basic blocking, punching and kicking techniques.
  • Punching pad and kicking shield practice to develop accuracy and confidence in striking an object or person.

Instructed by Tom LaRoche of Laroche World Gung-Fu Kickboxing (1110 Tranquille Rd, Kamloops). Tom LaRoche is a gung-fu blackbelt and four-time professional kickboxing Champion has trained and taught self defense for over 40 years in Kamloops.
