BC Métis Federation 2014-2015 Annual Report and Financial Statements

(Vancouver, BC) BC Métis Federation is pleased to release the 2014-2015 Annual Report which includes the first official audited financial statements for the organization since incorporating as a non for profit in June of 2011. The BC Métis Federation Annual Report covers the period of April 1st, 2014 – March 31st, 2015 in accordance with the organizations fiscal year in the bylaws.

BC Métis Federation President Henry stated, “Our leadership is pleased to provide the 2014-2015 Annual Report which membership will review during our Annual General Meeting scheduled for September 26th, 2015 in Kamloops. This last year our organization worked very hard advocating and support Métis families and communities on several fronts including numerous Métis cultural activities reflected in the report as well as our financial investments.”

BC Métis Federation President Henry added; “We faced adversity this past year which was unfortunately led by confusion and misunderstandings. Our first official audit is included in the Annual Report and completed by the firm of Culver and Co. led by Mr. Lyle Brown, CA. The BC Métis Federation 2014-2015 financial statements provide a “clean” audit, solvent organization, and reveal how effective the BC Métis Federation has been managing limited funds but producing significant and tangible benefits for our members and partners.”

BC Métis Federation President Henry concluded, “Thank you to our leadership, partners, and supporters committed to a vision of a sustainable and transparent provincial Métis representative organization. In only 3 short years the BC Métis Federation achieved so many milestones. We are proud to share the report well in advance of our Annual General Meeting to ensure members and partners are informed well in advance of the Annual General Meeting.”
