BC Métis Federation Celebrates 149th Canada Day in Surrey

(Surrey, BC) BC Métis Federation continues to contribute Métis culture to the general public in British Columbia where requested. The Federation was proud to share Métis culture at the Canada Day celebration in Surrey on Canada’s 149th birthday.

BC Métis Federation President Henry stated; “Once again our Métis cultural team led by Rowan and Quinn Pickering and partner Derrick Whiteskycloud from the Michif Historical and Cultural Preservation society provided hundreds of guests at the event a taste of Métis culture.”

BC Métis Federation President Henry concluded; “We are proud to share Métis culture and invest energy and resources to support this education for all British Columbians and Canadians. Canada Day is special for many within our Métis community as Métis are the first Canadians, the bringing together of First Nations and European explorers that contributed to the creation of Canada today.”
