The City of Surrey has notified the BC Metis Federation yesterday that Mayor Diane Watts and Council have unanimously passed a proclamation to honour and respect Louis Riel Day. This is another great way to increase awareness about the Metis people who live and work in Surrey. This is especially appreciated in light of the large Metis association Nova Metis Heritage Association.
