BC Métis Federation Meets with Seaspan

Meeting with Seaspan

(Vancouver, BC) The BC Métis Federation and partner community Vancouver Métis Citizens Society (VMCS) continued their collective work creating opportunities for Métis communities and families. Yesterday the leadership met with the Seaspan President and Vice President Mr. Brian Carter and Mr. John Shaw.

Seaspan has a head office in located in North Vancouver with additional facilities in Victoria. Seaspan has been contracted by the Federal Government to construct a number of vessels over the next few decades. Seaspan’s workforce will grow significantly as well as their contract opportunities.

BC Métis Federation President Henry stated, “Meeting the Seaspan President Mr. Brian Carter and Vice President Mr. John Shaw was another important step for our leadership. We wanted to introduce our Métis community and offer solutions in terms of potential contractors, employees, and Métis cultural awareness about Métis who reside in the area and may be willing and able to support their future company needs.”

BC Métis Federation President Henry concluded; “The President and Vice President appreciated the chance to meet and build relationships. Together it was agreed that we can and will work together. BC Métis Federation will be supporting contract and job employment opportunities in the future with Seaspan. ”
