BC Metis Federation is sharing a sad announcement today. Friend and Metis leader from Cranbrook Mr. Gerry Legare passed away yesterday March 21st 2013 after years of battling cancer.

Gerry was an outstanding friend and Metis leader and will be thoroughly missed by many. Today we all honour and express our most sincere appreciation to Gerry for his commitment to our Nation during his life. We also acknowledge his family for sharing their love one.

Gerry is survived by his loving wife Lavonne, daughter Michelle, brothers Edwin, Bob and Eugene, sisters Maureen, Elsie, Rosalind, Frieda and Caroline. He will be sadly missed by many relatives and friends.

A memorial service for Gerry will be held on

Wednesday, March 27, 2013
at Christ the Servant Parish in Cranbrook at 1:00 pm.
