BC Métis Federation is releasing the Opposition Statement submitted to the Provincial Government’s Notice of Intent that was aiming to direct award resources to Métis Nation British Columbia (MNBC).

This is an important issue and we encourage members to review the Governments Notice of Intent and the BC Métis Federation reasons for opposition.

The Ministry of Child and Family Development (MCFD) has informed that there will only be a 6 month contract to allow more time to review the matter which BC Métis Federation applauds. It is not enough for MNBC to assume they represent Métis people in British Columbia without a proper mandate and BC Métis Federation is advocating to ensure our members are properly represented.
