BC Metis Federation Communication Strategy

BC Métis Federation has become the leading Métis organization for timely information and updates in Canada.  BC Métis Federation is releasing reports today regarding the BC Métis Federation website and facebook from October 1st, 2012-September 1st, 2013.  The two reports provide a number of key performance measures.In eleven (11) months there have been approximately 30,000 unique visitors on the BC Métis Federation website (www.bcmetis.com) who have looked at over 306,000 pages.

This represents an approximate 70% increase when compared to the 2011-2012 period.  These visitors have provided over 1030 comments in response to stories and news posts.   The most viewed pages were the News tab, Mètis Coffee Talk tab, as well as Membership tab.  For example, Métis Coffee Talk had 5335 unique visitors review shows on the website over 13,448 times in the reporting time frame.BC Métis Federation has also invested time to develop the BC Métis Federation facebook page.  During the reporting time frame there have been over 32,000 unique visitors who made over 54,000 interactions.

The facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/BCMetis) had 7157 new likes and the audience is largely from British Columbia.  The largest facebook page audience is from Vancouver, Victoria, Prince George, Edmonton and Surrey.
