BC Metis Federation has sent a correspondence in response to the Metis National Council opinion article written by President Clement Chartier. Once more MNC is using court decisions as political tools to leverage their position.
The statements in the opinion are questionable at best.
Dear Minister Valcourt,
BC Metis Federation continues to write to address public concerns related to the Métis issues and concerns on behalf of our board and partner community from across the Province which represent over 7300 Métis people. Therefore we write today to address statements by the Métis National Council (MNC) that have been published in an opinion section in a Globe and Mail dated April 29th, 2014 in an article entitled “Court’s Say Métis Are Ottawa’s Responsibility. Here’s Why The PM shouldn’t appeal.”
