The BC Métis Federation is launching the 2014 Summer of Culture campaign with the first official event, starting as a featured partner along with Germany, at the 17th Annual European Festival being held May 31st and June 1st at Swangard stadium in Burnaby.
This event will bring approximately 20,000 people to Swangard stadium and BC Métis Federation leadership has worked to ensure Métis representation showcasing Métis culture. The Michif Historical Cultural Preservation Society along with Métis dancers and musicians will all be part of the weekend’s featured entertainment. BC Métis Federation leadership has been asked to bring comments for the opening ceremonies that feature dignitaries from all levels of government.
The BC Métis Federation encourages all Métis people to make plans to attend this cultural showcase that brings together that strong European connections that many in our Métis community have.
