BC Métis Federation is pleased to formally announce the new Communications Specialist Kassandra Sison to the team. Kassandra started last week after successfully completing and securing the position following her interview in January.
The Communications Specialist position was one of a number of positions identified to create as the organization takes steps to implement the updated BC Métis Federation Strategic Plan 2021-2024. Kassandra was the logical choice based on her private sector marketing experience as well as credentials from BCIT, SFU, and the University of Alberta. Kassandra brings experience in brand and content development, strategic planning, and community engagement from over a decade of work across various industries.
“I feel very fortunate to join the BC Métis Federation, and look forward to serving our members. I have Métis ancestry, and like so many people, my family did what they had to do to protect themselves, which meant hiding who we were. Thankfully, we have begun to reclaim some of what we’ve lost. I have such love and respect for our culture. I hope to use my experience and talents to help protect it for future generations. Our strategic plan at BCMF aligns so well with that, and I’m excited to dig in.” stated Kassandra Sison.
