NOTICE TO MEMBERS

Vancouver, British Columbia, August 18, 2023 — BC Métis Federation (BCMF) is set to host its 12th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on September 23, 2023 in Prince George, British Columbia from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m at the Courtyard by Marriott hotel, located at 900 Brunswick Street.

The agenda for the AGM includes a review of the 2022-23 Annual Report and financial statements as well as information on progress towards the 2023-24 Action Plan. Updates will also be provided on priority initiatives such as the BC Human Rights Complaint, Emergency Assistance Program, cultural centre project, and others. Of note for this year’s AGM is that elections to the Board of Directors will not be held as board members are in the midst of their two-year term.

Members and the public are welcome to attend the AGM in-person or virtually. For those attending virtually, there will be two ways to participate. The event will be broadcast in realtime on the BCMF Facebook page via Facebook Live. For members attending virtually who wish to vote at the AGM, a secure Zoom link will be provided. Given that no elections are taking place, voting will be limited to procedural motions such as approval of the agenda, appointment of auditor, adjournment, etc.
