Call to Action – Red Shirt Day Saturday May 10th, 2014

BC Metis Federation leadership is making a call to action for all residents across British Columbia.

There was a terrible tragedy in Nanaimo last week and the incident affects our Metis community. Vancouver Metis Citizens Society (VMCS) President Ron Paradis was the cousin of Michael Lunn who was killed in the senseless shooting as one of two victims.

The funeral is on Saturday and his friends and family members are dedicating Saturday as “Red Shirt Day” because “Mike” wore red shirts most days.

BC Metis Federation is dedicating this Saturday as red shirt day in his honour as Saturday is the funeral.

BC Metis Federation asks all residents to share this message and show our support by wearing a red shirt and taking a moment to send your prayers and support to the family.
