On September 24th, 2016 Members of the BC Métis Federation (BCMF) will select a new Board of Directors during their Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Terrace, BC. During this AGM, and for more than two weeks leading up to the official meeting in Terrace, BCMF Members will be invited to vote from their mobile phones, tablets and computers for their preferred Board of Director candidates using OneFeather electronic voting from anywhere on the planet.
Keith Henry, BCMF President says: “This electronic election process will allow eligible members from throughout BC to participate and elect the leadership they feel best represents their needs. It is time for Métis elections in Canada to do more to increase participation and we have chosen OneFeather to assist us in reaching as many member as possible with their effective and cost effective approach”
BC Métis Federation is the first Métis organization in Canada to use this technology to increase participatory democracy.
