Congratulations to White Buffalo Aboriginal and Métis Health Society

(Kamloops, BC) BC Métis Federation is issuing a statement of congratulations to the White Buffalo Aboriginal and Métis Health Society for their successful presentation of the “Honouring Our Life Givers, Night at the Drum: Alive with the Fiddle” event held May 8th in Kamloops. The event was attended by hundreds of people at the Sagebrush Theatre. The event included a number of First Nation, Non Aboriginal and Métis performers sharing a variety of talents throughout the evening.

BC Métis Federation was one of several sponsors contributing support for this event. Specially BC Métis Federation paid for the BC Métis Federation jiggers to attend along with support by Vice President Rene Therrien. BC Métis Federation also provided marketing and promotion for the event.

BC Métis Federation President Henry stated; “This was a beautiful evening showcasing the diversity of Métis, First Nation, and non Aboriginal talents in Kamloops and area. For me the highlights were watching Métis fiddlers Raynie Gervais from Prince George and Rene Therrien from Terrace perform for the audience some of the countries best Métis fiddle performances. Other highlights were watching our jiggers, including the Lii Michif Métis Dancers, dance with such Métis pride. Métis culture always adds strong energy for the any audience.”

BC Métis Federation concluded; “I am very proud of the work of White Buffalo, their staff and their Executive Director Jeanie Cardinal. I also know the event steering committee did an outstanding job planning and executing the success for the event. BC Métis Federation was proud to support contributions and assist in marketing the event. I encourage White Buffalo to continue supporting Métis culture for the public in Kamloops. Congratulations to everyone!”
