BC Metis Federation is proud of Metis woman Kim Bayer who released a new spoken word and music project entitled “Fractions of Destiny”.

Kim has been an active Metis community member in Vancouver for years and we applaud her recent achievement.

I write about people. Relationships, connections, missed connections, pain, triumph, and other elements of the human experience are prevalent themes. I’m interested in the meaning within moments, as there is always the potential for individual moments to imprint significant meaning in our lives. That is, each holds a small place in the collective of experiences; essentially, the composite parts of the fractions of destiny…

Remembering my strengths, my gifts,
my desired destiny
I tossed the leaves into the air
and watched them slowly float down
and scatter
