Representatives from MNBC showed their complete lack of class this past week by directly interfering in a Louis Riel Day celebration being organized by a number of representatives from the Prince George Metis community. Collective efforts of the Prince George Metis Elders Society, Kikino Metis Child and Family Services, and Northern Interior Metis Cultural Society invited Prince George Mayor Shari Green. Mayor Green was going to attend and speak to Metis in attendance but after intervention outlined in a November 9th letter, the Mayor has decided against attending.
BC Metis Federation applauds the response from the Metis organizations to Mayor Green and this is yet just another example of the lengths and desperation of MNBC and their supporters to hold on to power. The event is proceeding regardless and BC Metis Federation looks forward to attending and honouring this important date no matter what political interference is attempted.
