BC Métis Federation is pleased to update members and partners that the request sent this week to various levels of governments has already resulted in significant progress. The City of Vancouver and Burnaby are approving proclamations.

We are also very pleased with the City of Esquimalt who has agreed to also fly a Métis flag that will be provided November 16th:

Good afternoon Mr. Henry:

Thank you for your request to Mayor and Council, Township of Esquimalt, to proclaim November 16th Louis Riel Day and to fly the Métis flag on those dates. Yes, we would be honoured to issue the proclamation and fly the Métis flag during that time. Could you please provide us with a Métis Flag for those dates.
