MEDC Attending Aboriginal Business Match in September in Fort St. John

Vancouver, BC – The Métis Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) is participating in the Aboriginal Business Match, taking place in Fort St. John September 21-23, 2015.

“What we are looking for are the best business opportunities for our Métis business and individuals throughout BC,” stated Shauna Benson, consulting Executive for MEDC.

Benson goes on to say that there are many Métis businesses in the Northern part of BC who are not sure how to access these companies and major projects. “The Métis Economic Development Corporation is there to act as that connector and make sure we are looking at partnerships that are legitimate, real and a good fit for our Métis communities. We don’t want just company names on paper. We want actual collaborative business partners who are just as progressive as we are and being ready to capitalize on or even create opportunities.”

Keith Henry, President of the MEDC is working with the Fort St. John Métis Society, to make sure they are at the table with the newly formed corporation, “The MEDC is very new, but we are already seeing progress with our new joint ventures and will continue to encourage all Métis communities to have their business register with the Métis Economic Development Corporation, so we better understand what projects, initiatives and partnerships we should be focusing on.”
