(Surrey, BC) BC Métis Federation and partner community Nova Métis Heritage Association (Nova) held their fourth annual Christmas party for Métis members and families yesterday in Surrey.
A large turnout of Métis families and friends attended the festive Christmas event. There were several children of all ages in attendance. The event included Métis music, food, and a special visit by Santa.
BC Métis Federation President Keith Henry stated, “This was another great event. Fun for the children and families with members attending from many locations in the lower mainland. Thank you to the team who made arrangements to support fun for the families. People like Sherry Daniels, Ken Fisher, Joyce Fisher, Norm Eyford, Sharon Eyford, and many volunteers.”
BC Métis Federation President Henry concluded, “We all made Christmas a little more special for our Métis community and families. I know many of our partner communities also held events this past weekend and it is this true sense of community that is important at this time of year. Métis culture has always included community and this weekend was special for everyone and had a bigger turn out than last year. I want to wish a very Merry Christmas from on behalf of the BC Métis Federation leadership to all families across British Columbia!”
