BC Metis Federation has sent a correspondence earlier today to the Federal and Provincial Minister’s from the respective Aboriginal Ministries.

The BC Metis Federation letter addresses a more in depth assessment of the MNBC financial statements that were never released to the public by the MNBC (or their two corporate entities MPCBC and the MS and ECT) for fiscal year 2012-2013 until their recent Annual General Meeting in September 2013. At this time delegates were only handed out copies which have now been thoroughly reviewed. Today these financial statements are not posted on the MNBC website.

Based on the assessment BC Metis Federation calls into serious doubt the manner in which the financial statements have been presented. There appears to be inaccuracies and facts that do not support the amounts shown in the statements.

BC Metis Federation is demanding an independent full forensic audit of the MPCBC and MS and ECT and a continued call to governments and industry to invest directly to Metis community organizations and Metis service delivery agencies performing the actual work.
