New Emergency Assistance Program Launched

Do you need help covering health-related expenses? If you’re an active BCMF member, you can apply for the BCMF’s new Emergency Assistance Program. Full BCMF members can apply for financial assistance for costs related to essential health equipment, medical supplies, or travel costs for medical appointments.

The Emergency Assistance Program was launched last week and has already seen a significant response from members. “Pandemic-related health concerns, along with an increased cost of living, has meant that some of our members are struggling to cover costs. Since announcing the new Emergency Assistance Program, BCMF has received a large number of applications for help covering health-related expenses, and we’re happy to help our members bridge the gap so they can get back to health.” said BCMF President Keith Henry.

Assistance is only available for health related expenses. Only Full Members are eligible and their membership must be active. Members who have let their membership lapse must renew their membership before applying for assistance. If you have any questions about the program you can reach out to Kevin Henry, Métis Community Health Coordinator, at CommunityHealth@BCMetis.com
