The Trial of Louis Riel starts in 10 days. have you booked your tickets?

Now in its 47th year of production, the Trial of Louis Riel, the re-creation of Canada’s most famous trial, is being performed by RielCo. Productions Inc. at the Columbia Theatre for three shows. Louis David Riel was a Canadian politician, a founder of the province of Manitoba, and a political and spiritual leader of the Métis people of the Canadian prairies. He led two resistance movements against the Canadian government and its first post-Confederation prime minister, Sir John A. Macdonald. Riel sought to preserve Métis rights and culture as their homelands in the Northwest came progressively under the Canadian sphere of influence. He is regarded by many today as a Canadian folk hero.

The BC Métis Federation encourages Métis people and friends to purchase their tickets as soon as possible for the shows scheduled November 15th and 16th in New Westminster, BC. History is being made as this is the first time the play has ever been to British Columbia. The BC Métis Federation is requesting donations from members as we ensure that the event is sustainable. Any contributions are appreciated as this is a great undertaking by the BC Métis Federation.
