In March of 2021, the TCEI project team began planning a website portal to disseminate projects like the TCEI Trans Mountain Expansion Project (TMEP) as part of a broader knowledge partnership. The idea of a grassroots, community-based educational platform is compelling as an aspect of BCMF’s current organizational Action Plan for resurgence.  A digital portal that educates Metis people and local communities about past, current and future research conducted within a properly instituted indigenous research methodology can facilitate meaningful, transparent, authentic knowledge partnerships.  The Research Portal would also support a password-protected area that houses the experiential learning modules, provides opportunities for community-based researcher interactions and support, and enables mentorship sessions with trained historians and GIS technicians.
