Important Eligibility Criteria
The Emergency Assistance Program is for Full Members of the BC Métis Federation only (Associate Members are not eligible). If your membership is expired, please renew your membership before applying for assistance.
BC Métis Federation recognizes that its members sometimes need assistance when they encounter health related expenses. Responding to that, BCMF has created a new Emergency Assistance Program to help fill the financial gap that can be created when costs related to an illness or disability start adding up.
Full members are able to apply for financial assistance for costs related to COVID-19, essential health equipment, medical supplies, or travel costs for medical appointments. Please note that Associate Members are not currently eligible for assistance. Also, Full Members must have active memberships to be eligible. If you are a Full Member and need assistance but have not renewed your membership, you must renew your membership before an application for assistance will be considered.
- Emergency Assistance Program applications will be considered on a first come, first served basis
- BCMF cannot guarantee a specific duration of time between time of application and distribution of funds
- If you receive assistance, you are no longer eligible to apply for further assistance until the following year
All applications for assistance must be submitted through the online application form below. The BCMF health team will review all applications received and will follow up with applicants directly for any additional required information and to provide updates on the status of an application.
