The BC Métis Federation (BCMF) is actively working with industry to seek out and capitalize on procurement opportunities for Métis contractors. BCMF has been successful in securing numerous contracts for Métis-owned business in the last two years and expects significant growth in the number and size of procurement opportunities moving into the future.
BCMF’s Industry Procurement Coordinator manages all high-level industry partnerships and engages with contractors that have the capacity and safety certifications to perform work on pipeline and construction projects in BC and Alberta. She partners with both Indigenous and non-Indigenous owned contractors and work to ensure industry partners receive bidding opportunities on all major pipeline projects and any ongoing maintenance opportunities.
BCMF is currently engaged with supply chain management for expansion and maintenance activities for the following companies:
- Trans Mountain (Trans Mountain Expansion Project & Maintenance)
- TC Energy (Groundbirch, Yahk, and Elko Expansions)
- Northriver Midstream (NEBC expansion)
- Enbridge (ongoing maintenance)
- FortisBC (expansions & maintenance)
