BCMF has partnered with The Department of Natural Resources Canada to examine the impact of the TMX project on our member communities, the impact study is one of the accommodation measures available to our communities as part of the TMX project approval.
Short-term project goals
Advance TMEP cumulative effects work and to advance community understanding of human activities on mainland terrestrial and freshwater environments over time and space. This will, as a result, increase our community capacity and have an immediate impact on our ability to engage with government and industry.
Long-term project goals
Equip our communities with self-determining skills and knowledge, in ways that reflect an enhanced understanding of the cumulative effects of industrial development and empower them to participate as partners in the decision-making process that shapes economic development in the province.
