BCMF Releases 2025-26 Action Plan

Vancouver, British Columbia, June 13, 2025 — The BC Métis Federation (BCMF) is pleased to announce the release of its 2025–26 Action Plan, which outlines BCMF’s priorities and initiatives for the coming fiscal year.

This Action Plan builds on the foundation of BCMF’s 2025–28 Strategic Plan, developed in consultation with members, Partner Communities, the Board of Directors, and staff. The plan reflects BCMF’s previously established key strategic priorities: Rights and Recognition, Cultural Revitalization, Member and Community Support, and Capacity Development.

The 2025–26 Action Plan reaffirms BCMF’s commitment to advancing Métis rights and supporting Métis families and communities across British Columbia. It outlines a range of initiatives, including plans for a new Métis Cultural Centre, expansion of Michif-French language resources, direct financial assistance for members facing health-related or educational costs, and the launch of BCMF’s first Elders’ housing initiative.

“This Action Plan demonstrates BCMF’s ongoing commitment to building a future that honours our past and supports our people today,” said BCMF President Keith Henry. “We are proud to work alongside our Partner Communities to uplift and protect Métis families throughout the province.”

The 2025–26 Action Plan reaffirms BCMF’s dedication to advancing the well-being of Métis individuals, families, and communities across British Columbia through meaningful, community-driven work.
