Through its “Finding Your Voice” women’s programming initiative, the BC Métis Federation is proud to offer a Women’s Self-Defence & Situational Awareness workshop in Kelowna on Saturday, June 8 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

Situational awareness enables women to respond quickly and safely to potential dangers in the surrounding area:

  • Evasive defensive tactics
  • Distance control and exit strategies
  • Rehearsal and review of practical scenarios
  • Natural striking techniques
  • How to get out of grabs quickly and easily
  • Profiling and reading body language
  • Self-development tools to build the confidence to protect yourself

Instructed by Sensei Paul Atkin of Kelowna Karate & Fitness (10-1925 Kirschner Road). Sensei Paul Atkin is a 4th degree black belt and World Champion with over 27 years of teaching experience.
