Join the BC Métis Federation and the Métis Association of Central Okanagan (MACO) for a Medicine Bag Workshop in the Okanagan Regional Library (3731 Old Okanagan Hwy). This event will run from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 22nd, and will teach attendees how to create their own medicine bag, providing all the necessary materials.
Known as Mhaskigi, Maskihkiya, and Askipâsân—traditional medicines hold the healing power of plants and a connection to the sacred power of nature. In this 2-hour, hands-on workshop, attendees will craft their own traditional leather medicine bag to hold traditional medicines, tobacco, or other treasured items.
