Daily life can be stressful, but not all stress is necessarily bad. As part of its Fall Online Series, the BC Métis Federation is hosting a Zoom discussion on wellness and how to live with the stressors of daily life.
In Indigenous communities and cultures, wellness is about being in balance and harmony. Wellness focuses on strengths rather than deficits or weaknesses, and emphasizes being in connection with family, community and nature.
This discussion will look at the whole person and the interconnectedness of each aspect of the self. It will cover stress, stress management, and how to create good coping and management skills around stress. Resources, both in community and online, will be shared. No one is immune to stress, but it’s important to learn the tips and tricks that make it a less overwhelming factor in our lives.
The event will take place via Zoom on Thursday, October 3 from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm. Everyone is welcome. If you plan to participate, please contact Danielle Desjarlais via email at D.Desjarlais@BCMetis.com to register. After you register, you will be provided with the Zoom link.
This event is being led by Lisa Armstrong, BCMF Director of Child, Youth, & Family. Watch for more events this fall that are a part of the BC Métis Federation’s online fall series on Child, Family, & Youth topics.
