Join BCMF Conservation for Waves of Change, a special Ocean Week Canada event happening on Sunday, June 8th in Nanaimo, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. The Conservation team will host a community shoreline cleanup at Neck Point Park (1055 Morningside Dr) — all safety gear provided — plus a live water testing demo and complimentary refreshments.
There will also be a special Indigenous-led discussion with Mauricea Panchenko, a passionate fourth-year Indigenous/Xwulmuxw Studies student at Vancouver Island University. Mauricea brings powerful insights on conservation and land-based healing. Volunteers will also receive a Moose Hide Campaign pin as a token of appreciation.
