Another MNBC Director Resigns

(Vancouver BC) BC Metis Federation has been informed that the lower mainland regional director Michelle Lavergne has resigned effective August 1st 2013. Ms. Lavergne held one of 11 board positions on the Metis nation British Columbia board of directors.

Many have witnessed the dysfunction of MNBC governance for years including the last 2012 general election. At this time a number of the MNBC positions did not yield a single candidate. Ms. Lavergne was acclaimed as no other candidate applied for the position. BC Metis Federation President Keith Henry stated, “This comes as no surprise to me as the MNBC governance continues to fall apart. This organization is simply dying a slow and painful death and this is yet another example.”

BC Metis federation Keith henry concluded, “I am sure we will hear wonderful reasons why Ms. Lavergne has moved on, but the fact is she quit, and that is the end of the story. We wish her well in all future endeavours. “
