When you feel lonely at Christmas time just reach out and give the elders a gift, it will heal your soul. Giving a hug to someone else is the most powerful reward. We need show more respect to our parents and elders while they are still with us, they need us in our Nation to be strong and support them more than ever in this changing world.”

BC Métis Federation President Henry concluded; “What a great way to finish 2011. Thank you so much Beverly and others who dedicated volunteer time and energy for this Christmas Party to keep the Métis holiday season spirit alive in Dawson Creek. I am very pleased that other Métis communities in Northeast BC attended. The BC Métis Federation ends the year on such a powerful note symbolic of our commitment to Métis people in BC demonstrated throughout 2011. We have done, and will continue to do more for Métis people through these important community gatherings and cultural events.
