(Vancouver, BC) The BC Métis Federation is excited to announce today a new series of Métis community cultural events for 2014. The BC Métis Federation and a number of partner communities will be co-hosting Métis Cultural Events throughout British Columbia building on the success of the Summer of Culture series held throughout British Columbia in 2013.
BC Métis Federation is pleased to day to provide an initial list of Métis cultural events as follows:
- Sunshine Coast – Sechelt – March 15th – A partnership between Vancouver Métis Citizens Society and BC Métis Federation.
- Eurofest – Burnaby – May 31st – June 1st – BC Métis Federation is one of the featured partners with the country of Germany and will play stronger role in terms of performances, concert, and branding Métis awareness.
- Métis Days at Klahowya Village – Vancouver – July 1st – 3rd – Métis Days at the Klahowya Village in Stanley Park will be held in conjunction with Canada Day.
- Métis Jamboree – McLeese Lake Hall – August 8th – 10th – The 2nd annual jamboree is being hosted by Cariboo Chilcotin Métis Association out of Williams Lake supported by the BC Métis Federation.
- Métis Cultural Festival – Terrace – August 15th – 17th – The event is being hosted by the Skeena River Métis Cultural Association and supported by the BC Métis Federation.
BC Métis Federation President Henry stated, “As leaders we are very pleased to support and showcase Métis culture and we encourage everyone to start making their plans to attend any or several of these events. Further details for each event will be released in due course and we expect to add a number of new events in the next few months.”
