Vancouver, British Columbia — October 28, 2025 — The BC Métis Federation (BCMF) successfully concluded its 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM) this past weekend in Kelowna, welcoming more than 100 members, partners, and community representatives from across the province.
The two-day event started with committee meetings for BCMF’s Youth, Women, and Elders groups, followed by a vibrant community cultural celebration. Attendees gathered again the next day to discuss ongoing initiatives, future priorities, and the continued growth of BCMF’s programs and partnerships.
BCMF President Keith Henry highlighted the importance of the event and the collaboration that made it possible:
“Each year, our AGM brings together Métis people from every corner of British Columbia to celebrate our progress, share ideas, and strengthen our sense of community,” said Henry. “This year’s gathering in Kelowna was a true reflection of what can be achieved when Métis organizations, communities, and families work together toward a shared vision of self-determination.”
The Federation expressed its appreciation to the Métis Association of Central Okanagan (MACO) for its partnership and support in hosting this year’s events, and extended thanks to its Board of Directors for their continued leadership and commitment to advancing the interests of Métis people across the province.
The AGM provided a space for meaningful discussion on governance, community programming, and upcoming initiatives that will guide BCMF’s work into 2026 and beyond.
