Métis people of Canada have always boasted about a distinct, rebellious and vibrant culture…each descendant of those European fur traders and Aboriginal women in the 18th and 19th century have contributed to the social fabric and design of our modern Canadian landscape. The struggle though for rights and recognition continues today and Métis across the country must continue to wage modern battles in court rooms and board rooms to ensure governments and all partners honour their responsibilities to our people…Louis Riel would be proud!
On September 24th the BC Métis Federation (BCMF) will hold their Annual General Meeting (AGM) to elect a new Board of Directors. The BCMF is a non-profit association that works with Métis communities and partners to ensure the well being of grassroots BCMF members. Therefore, it is vitally important that registered members of the BCMF register to participate in this very important act of self-governance.

The current Board of Directors has secured OneFeather, an electronic voting platform, as an independent Chief Electoral Office and voting system to ensure every BCMF member has the opportunity to cast their secret Ballot for the Directors of their choice. The OneFeather online voting platform is available and can be accessed from your mobile phone, tablet or personal computer. Electronic voting polls will be open from 1:00PM September 8th and will close at 1:00PM September 24, 2016.
BCMF members are encouraged to register at OneFeather and vote for their Board of Directors when polls open in September.
