With just days remaining until the federal election and all party platforms now released, the BC Métis Federation remains concerned about the noticeable absence of Indigenous issues from the campaign dialogue.
Yesterday, BCMF Vice President Earl Belcourt directly raised these concerns with Prime Minister Mark Carney during the Liberal leader’s campaign stop on Vancouver Island. Mr. Belcourt emphasized the need to include Métis voices, priorities, and rights in election platforms and national policy discussions.
BCMF continues to engage with all political parties to elevate Métis issues and strongly encourages members to contact local candidates and advocate for meaningful inclusion.
