Vancouver, British Columbia, April 4, 2024 — On the heels of its best year since its 2011 inception, the BC Métis Federation (BCMF) has released its 2024-25 Action Plan. After exceeding last year’s ambitious targets, BCMF looks ahead to another year of success in promoting Métis resurgence, elevating member and community support, and building capacity.

“I’m incredibly proud of what the BC Métis Federation was able to accomplish last year, and I know the best is yet to come,” said Keith Henry, BCMF President. “With our forward momentum and dedicated team members, we are up to the challenge this Action Plan presents and I’m looking forward to another incredible year.”

Included in the 2024-25 Action Plan are concrete steps to advance research into the historical Métis presence in the Pacific Northwest while also supporting contemporary Métis culture. In addition, it includes steps towards the establishment of a Métis cultural centre in the Lower Mainland; increased programs and services for children, youth, women, and elders; Michif language programming, and procurement, employment, and conservation activities.

BCMF encourages all members and partners to review the 2024-25 BCMF Action Plan to learn more about the BCMF team and the goals and activities they plan to accomplish over the next 12 months. The 2024-25 Action Plan can be downloaded here.
