Vancouver, British Columbia — November 19, 2025 — The BC Métis Federation (BCMF) is pleased to announce the appointment of two new directors—Brad Giroux and Earl Storey—following a motion passed at the November 12, 2025 Board of Directors meeting.
Brad Giroux joins the board after years of service to BCMF as a member of the Industry Engagement team. Brad will continue as Manager of Industry Engagement through January as part of a phased transition. In addition to his duties as a Director, Brad will remain involved with BCMF in a project-based capacity, supporting key Vancouver Island initiatives. His longstanding commitment to community engagement and the advancement of services for Métis families positions Brad as a strong contributor to the Board’s ongoing work.
Earl Storey enters the board as an active BCMF member. His involvement in community efforts started with volunteering with the BCMF Conservation team and Earl remains dedicated to environmental stewardship, community education, and advancing Métis visibility. BCMF recognizes the valuable lived experience, community grounding, and Métis cultural leadership Earl brings to the Board.
BCMF President Keith Henry welcomed the appointments, stating:
“Brad and Earl each bring unique strengths, deep community roots, and tremendous leadership potential to BCMF’s Board. Their contributions—grounded in service, experience, and a shared commitment to Métis families—will strengthen our governance and support BCMF’s continued growth. Responsible governance is central to our work, and these appointments reflect our dedication to building a board that is engaged, capable, and representative of our members.”
The Board looks forward to working with both directors as BCMF continues advancing Métis self-determination, community advocacy, and cultural revitalization efforts across British Columbia.
