Surrey, BC – BC Métis Federation leadership, Nova Métis Heritage Association, and countless other organizations (including Métis Nation BC) spent this past Saturday remembering Ken Fisher. Ken’s Celebration of Life hosted by the BC Métis Federation brought together over 130 friends and family to remember the life and times of Ken Fisher.
Ken’s significant contributions, work, and at times antics were shared as friends and family recounted some of the memorable stories about Ken. A tribute video and final featured Métis Matters Radio Show for Ken was the highlight for many. BC Métis Federation President Keith Henry stated, “This was a powerful way to say good bye to our friend and one of our leaders from our Métis community in BC. To witness the large number of speakers from such a diverse crowd showcased the impact Ken’s life had on so many people. We heard from the City of Surrey, former MLA, Coop Radio, and numerous friends and family.”
BC Métis Federation President Henry concluded, “Thank you to everyone who attended and donated to support the Celebration of Life. We will all miss Ken and we know he was there with us celebrating and appreciating the friends and family that remembered his life and times.”
BC Métis Federation has now posted the tribute video, pictures, one of Ken’s speeches, and final Métis Matters Radio Show on the facebook page and website.
