(Prince George, BC) – BC Métis Federation and the Peyak Li Moond Métis Society (Peyak), one of the partner communities of the BC Métis Federation, are celebrating the success of their 2nd annual Roots Music Festival that was held over the weekend at Blackburn Community Hall in Prince George, British Columbia.
BC Métis Federation President Keith Henry stated; “Thank you to the Peyak leadership, volunteers, and performers for the collective work this weekend! This was my first time to attend in person and the large crowd and excitement over the weekend was inspiring.”
BC Métis Federation President Keith Henry added; “Thank you to the several sponsors including TransCanada and several others. BC Métis Federation is proud to sponsor and contribute to the event as we have each year for the past two years. This annual cultural sponsorship enables our leadership to work with many communities including Prince George to support Métis culture.”
BC Métis Federation President Henry concluded; “The event was successful and there were visitors from all over BC. This was the largest crowds attending I have seen all summer! Thank you to Peyak President Shaun Bortolon Bellemy, Vice President Bonita Gunton, director Rose Bortolon and so many others.”
