Metis Experience Questionnaire

BC Metis Federation is collecting survey responses from its membership to better understand their experiences of METIS DISCRIMINATION in British Columbia.

Completing this questionnaire is a great way for members to help our Metis families, and our children have a better lived experience as Metis people living in BC.

A number of our members have reported examples of ongoing discriminatory acts by the Federal Government and its departments, and BCMF needs your help to ensure the Federal Government’s discrimination ends so that future generations do not suffer the same hardships that you and other member families have faced.

How can you help?
BCMF wants to hear whether you have been discriminated against by the Federal Government or any of its various departments or programs, such as Indigenous Services Canada, Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada or its programs.

Has a federal department told you that your BCMF membership is insufficient proof of Metis Identity? Were you told by a federal department that you must attain membership with another Metis organization to access a program and/or funding?

If you feel the Federal Government has discriminated against you or a member of your family, we want to hear from you.

Your stories will assist the BCMF in strengthening our legal case against the Federal Government to ensure real change happens. All respondents will be entered into a draw to win a VISA prize pack, including a $100 VISA gift card!

Visit www.BCMetis.com/MetisinBC to complete the questionnaire.
